The tests were conducted in six countries: Bolivia, Cambodia, Slovakia, Guatemala, Serbia and Sri Lanka. What the social network giant Facebook has basically been playing not driven content pages in Feed exploration (Explore Feed), the one of the secondary feed. If you have never heard of this feature, do not be amazed. It was released globally also in October 2017, but it gets kinda hidden. In the Facebook app for iOS or Android, for example, you need to tap the button and then find it in the list; in the desktop web version, you have to locate it in the middle of the various options in the menu on the left. However, now it seems that it did not work. While the main and secondary feed split matches Facebook’s plan to prioritize content from friends and family, the company found that the approach did not help users interact more with their contacts. In fact, the survey done by Facebook showed that users were less satisfied with the posts they viewed. Many have commented that access to local information that they consider important has become more difficult. The fact that the test was not communicated clearly was also criticized. As a result, now the social network giant Facebook has decided to discontinue the secondary feed in the coming days, to the relief of administrators who have seen their page hits fall. But that does not mean that everything will go back to the way it was before the test: the plan to give more visibility to user content continues. So, what do you think about this?
